Greek Island hopping in june 2020

June 1st - 13th, 2020

Visit new destinations and make new friends as My Ladies Travel Club travels to Greece for a little island hopping.

Our group will fly into Athens from LAX for a 4-night stay in my favorite neighborhood in Athens, the Plaka. In the shadow of the Acropolis and its ancient temples, hillside Plaka has a village feel, with narrow cobblestone streets lined with tiny shops selling jewelry, clothes and local ceramics. Sidewalk cafes and family-run tavernas stay open until late, and Cine Paris shows classic movies al fresco. Nearby, the whitewashed homes of the Anafiotika neighborhood give the small enclave a Greek-island vibe.

Overlooking the ancient Acropolis of Athens, this relaxed, downtown hotel is a 2-minute walk from the nearest metro station, an 11-minute walk from the Parthenon and a 14-minute walk from the Acropolis Museum.

The bright, laid-back rooms offer free Wi-Fi, mini fridges and satellite TV. Upgraded rooms feature balconies or views of the Acropolis. Family rooms add adjoining rooms with extra beds. Room service is provided.

A complimentary breakfast buffet is served in a casual dining room. There's also a rooftop terrace with a bar and panoramic views, as well as a chic lounge.

On day four we will board our ship, the Celestyal Crystal and explore the idyllic Aegean on a cruise throughout the Greek Islands. We will journey from island to island experiencing the nightlife of Mykonos, stroll along windswept cliffs on Santorini, enjoy the pristine beaches of Milos, and feast on world-famous cuisine on sunny Crete.

Balconies and suites are sold out. We have inside and ocean view cabins available.

Athens Food Tour Tastings With a Local

Kick-off your food tour with a feast for all your senses at a typical Athenian in-and outdoor market. Stroll past the fish market that’s surrounded by the historic meat market. This is your chance to taste the best varieties of Greek olives. Check out the fruit & vegetable market across the street, and find the most colorful fruits you’ve ever seen! This market is a true sensory and gastronomic delight.  The next tasting is located inside a beautiful, spacious neo classical building with high ceilings and tables around the food counter. Choose from a mouthwatering selection of the best traditional meats and cheeses. Your private guide will tell you all about it's history, so feel free to ask any burning questions along the way.  Follow your nose and make your way to the most fragrant street in Athens. Walk into a true local spice store and hear why Athenians don’t mind traveling to the city centreto find that one unique spice. Nothing beats that special touch to a dish! Next, you’ll pass the church of Agioi Theodoroi. Admire it’s unexpected beauty, right in the middle of a normal shopping area. Make your way to the next stop, a true oasis bistro in busy Athens. Sip on a traditional Greek coffee or enjoy a glass of naturally-flavored Mastiquasparkling water. Enjoy the beautiful old Parisian style interior with an authentic Greek touch. As you stroll the streets of Athens, do as the locals do and grab a typical Greek on-the-go snack called ‘Koulouri Thessalonikis’. As you finish munching on your treat, get ready for a typical Greek olive oil tasting. Find out why olive oil is fundamental to any Greek dish. Be sure to leave room for your next stop where you’ll bite into the best souvlaki in town!  We’ve saved the best for last, so get your sweet tooth ready as your host will take you for some delicious ‘Loukoumades’ Greek doughnuts.
